Jonathan Harter

Chef Jonathan Harter brings over 20 years of professional culinary experience to The Meadowglade, grounded in a lifelong passion for health, nature, and food as medicine. His journey began at age five, following his grandmother around the kitchen, and has taken him from private chef work with professional athletes from the LA Rams and LA Dodgers to traveling the country as a chef for Sodexo Live. There, he cooked for iconic venues like the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, the Hollywood Bowl, the Pasadena Convention Center, Miami Dolphins Stadium, and the Seattle Mariners Stadium.

Most recently, he served as Executive Chef at a private country club, leading large-scale operations and elevating food quality and kitchen culture.

Chef Jonny’s transition to The Meadowglade is a return to his core philosophy of healing through food, movement, and connection with the earth. A former athlete and lifelong student of herbal medicine, he has studied wellness and nutrition for years with a special focus on the gut-brain connection. He believes that emotional and mental recovery is directly linked to what we eat, how we grow it, and the way we prepare it. By prioritizing clean ingredients and whole foods, he creates meals that support clarity, reduce inflammation, and nourish both body and mind.

He lives what he teaches. When he is not cooking, you can find him mountain biking, hiking, fishing, camping, or tending to his extensive home garden. There he grows culinary herbs, edible flowers, fruits, vegetables, and medicinal plants. This deep connection to nature influences everything he brings into the kitchen.

At The Meadowglade, Chef Jonny is developing a full culinary horticultural program where clients can cook alongside him, garden with him, and experience firsthand the power of reconnecting to food. His goal is to teach clients how to garden like a cook and cook like someone who understands the garden.

Through this hands-on, seasonal, and therapeutic approach, he aims to help others heal by slowing down, nourishing themselves with intention, and finding joy in the process.
