The Meadowglade is a contracted provider with Uprise Health’s managed behavioral health division for our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). If your behavioral health benefits are administered by Uprise Health or one of its affiliated networks, you may be able to begin treatment with us at significantly reduced out-of-pocket costs.

Because Uprise Health administers benefits on behalf of employers, health plans, government agencies, and labor unions, many members don’t realize they have Uprise coverage until they look closely at their plan documents.

Our admissions team verifies this for you at no cost and with no obligation.

Who Is Uprise Health?

Uprise Health is a national behavioral health organization headquartered in Irvine, California. Founded in 1988 as Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH), the company rebranded as Uprise Health in 2021 after decades of growth and acquisition.

Today Uprise Health administers behavioral health benefits and employee assistance programs for tens of thousands of employer groups nationwide.

Rather than functioning as a traditional health insurance carrier, Uprise Health operates primarily as a managed behavioral health organization. Employers and health plans contract with Uprise to administer the mental health and substance use portion of their benefits.

This is why your primary medical card may display an entirely different company’s name while your mental health authorizations route through Uprise.

Uprise Health Affiliates and Legacy Brand Names

Uprise Health has grown through the acquisition of several long-established behavioral health companies, and many of those names still appear on member cards, benefit summaries, and provider directories.

You may have Uprise-administered behavioral health benefits if your plan references any of the following:

  • Claremont Behavioral Services, Inc. (“Claremont”): the Alameda-based organization long known for its work with California public sector and commercial employee groups
  • RBH Management, Inc.
  • Reliant Behavioral Health, L.L.C. (“RBH”)
  • Employee Benefit Strategies, LLC
  • HMC HealthWorks, LLC (“HMC”)
  • American Behavioral Benefits Managers, LLC
  • American Behavioral EAP (“ABBM”)
  • IBH / IBH Solutions / Integrated Behavioral Health: Uprise Health’s former corporate name

If any of these names appear on your insurance card or benefit documents, contact our admissions team. We can confirm whether your specific plan is administered through the Uprise Health network we contract with.

Does Uprise Health Cover Mental Health Treatment at The Meadowglade?

Yes –  for two levels of care. The Meadowglade contracts with Uprise Health’s managed behavioral health division for our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Partial Hospitalization Programming (PHP) delivers the clinical depth of inpatient care without an overnight stay. Clients attend structured programming during the day and return home or structured housing in the evening.

This level of care suits individuals stepping down from residential treatment as well as those who need substantially more support than weekly therapy provides but who can maintain safety at home. Programming includes daily group therapy, individual sessions with a licensed therapist, psychiatric care and medication management, and family involvement.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Intensive Outpatient Programming (IOP)  typically involves three to four hours of programming, three to four days per week. It is built for people who need consistent, meaningful clinical support while continuing to work, attend school, or care for their families. IOP combines group therapy, individual counseling, and psychoeducational workshops, and frequently serves as the step-down phase after PHP.

Coverage specifics depend entirely on your individual plan. Our admissions team confirms all of it before you commit to anything.

Levels of care outside PHP and IOP are not covered under our Uprise Health agreement. If you’re exploring residential treatment or another level of care, our admissions team can review your other benefit options with you.

Important Notice Regarding EAP Sessions

Please note that our facility strictly contracts with Uprise Health’s Managed Behavioral Health Insurance division for intensive clinical care.

Because our programs are structured as extended, comprehensive clinical tracks, we do not accept or process standard short-term workplace EAP counseling vouchers – typically authorized in three- to six-session increments. All admissions must be authorized through a commercial or union insurance policy.

This applies regardless of which affiliated brand issued the EAP benefit. If you were referred to us through an EAP and aren’t sure what type of authorization you hold, call our admissions team and we’ll identify it for you.

Does Uprise Health Cover Therapy At The Meadowglade?

Yes. Therapeutic services delivered within a covered PHP or IOP episode are generally included under your behavioral health benefit. Our clinical programming draws on:

Some modalities may be authorized differently depending on your plan. We’ll clarify what applies to you during verification.

What Mental Health Disorders Does Uprise Health Cover?

Uprise Health administers benefits for the full range of diagnosable mental health disorders, subject to medical necessity criteria. The Meadowglade provides PHP and IOP treatment for:

Does Uprise Health Cover Your Benefits? How to Check Your Card

Many employers use a carve-out system. Your primary health insurance card might say Aetna, Blue Shield, or the name of a local trade union on the front, while your mental health benefits are handled by a specialized partner behind the scenes. Here’s how to find out.

1. Flip your card over

Look at the small print on the back of your insurance card under headings labeled “Mental Health,” “Behavioral Health,” or “Mental Health Claims.”

2. Look for the sub-networks

Check whether the text instructs you to route claims or authorization requests through Uprise Health, IBH Solutions, American Behavioral, or Claremont. A separate phone number listed specifically for behavioral health is usually the giveaway.

3. Let us do the work

If you aren’t sure, send a photo of the front and back of your card to our intake specialists. Our team will call the provider lines directly and confirm your full PHP or IOP coverage.

Union and Trust Fund Members

Uprise Health has a long history of administering behavioral health benefits for labor organizations, Taft-Hartley plans, and trust funds, much of it through the American Behavioral organization it acquired. If you’re a union member, your health and welfare fund may direct mental health authorizations through Uprise even when your medical benefits are administered elsewhere.

We work regularly with union members and trust fund administrators and understand how these plans handle authorization, continued-stay review, and claims. If your fund requires pre-certification before admission, our team will initiate it for you.

How Much Will Treatment Cost With Uprise Health?

Your cost depends on your specific plan design, your deductible, copay or coinsurance, out-of-pocket maximum, and whether you’ve met any of those thresholds this plan year. Because Uprise administers benefits on behalf of many different employers and funds, two members holding Uprise-administered coverage can have very different cost structures.

The Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act requires most plans to apply comparable financial requirements and treatment limitations to mental health benefits as they do to medical and surgical benefits.

In practice, that means your mental health care generally cannot carry higher cost-sharing or stricter limits than comparable medical care under the same plan.

We’ll give you a clear picture of your expected costs before you make any decision.
